Joyce McNair (1940- ) is the West Coast Editorial consultant for Asili the Journal of Multicultural Heartspeak using her considerable talents to market the on-line magazine and solicit material from prominent west coast writers. She is a former research coordinator for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Papers Project at Stanford University; convention director for the California Democratic Party as well as editor of the party's official newsletter. Currently she works for the national nonprofit organization, Women in Community Service (WICS). A long time patroness of the arts and political activist, Ms. McNair has kept her ear to the doors of change for over forty years. She chose Asili as the the medium to publish her very personal "Spiritual Awakening" and her short stories, Ekundayo, Ahhh Stockton and The Stereo.
