Color of Life

There is life here
In this humid atmosphere
in this acrid air
there is life
The aromatic presence
of warm sweat
of molten skin
lingers here
Life is wrapped up
in this frantic pace
to nowhere
Circular movements
is the tempo of life
Chocolate
Ebony
Caramel
is the color of life
Hear the sound of life
a medley
of far away voices
joined together
with the familiar rhythms
of distant drums
Joy lives here
There are no masks
Truth reflects
on every gaze
The taste of life
drools off the lips
senses awake
dreamers dream
seers see
Float on the essence of life
and drown in the surge of ecstasy

Moonlight

Moonlight
streams through the window
Carving
a silhouette of her body
into the darkness
She dreams of love
as the silvery glow
caresses her
She floats through the night
in search of her twin flame
Among the stars
in a tender embrace
their bodies collide
They are supernova
unveiling the dawn
As the sunrise stroke her lips
she awakens with a smile
Echoes of the night
glide into daydreams

On the mountain top

To see what is beyond
the place where I stand
there is a mountain of sorrows
I must climb
Moments lived in
are scattered across the sky
There is nothing between
fleeting memories
that I struggle to hold close
But they float away
to the distant blue field
where moments reside
I must climb this mountain
for these rocks tell my stories
When I reach the top
I will open love mystery

SOBE

To welcome them in her embrace
each day she opens her arms
The calm waters of Biscayne Bay
a prelude to the pleasures she promise
In the sunshine she radiates on the youth
dancing to the rhythm of joyous expectations
Under the rain clouds she is a mirror
to view the souls of the dejected

On her breasts is painted a tapestry of life
Her bosom becomes a source of comfort
for every vein of human being
Her high places offer a glimpse
of what lies at the end of the rainbow
Cool sand a place of sweet rest for the weary
Her warm ocean the gift of healing waters
to soothe the wounds of the neglected

Within her invisible fences she holds
a strange fusion of divergent reality
She wears indifference like a shroud
sifting the crumbs of the cornucopia of life
to sprinkle the streets with the dust of despair
Intermingled footprints trace the path to detachment
Her vistas capture the imagination of the dreamer
Her heat deepens the delirium of the rejected

They come to discover her charm
to seek refuge from the bitterness of life
In a sea of transient people
forms a tide of discordant variety
Amidst the babble of confused voices
words of a broken promise are yet unspoken
Incomprehensible, she becomes a spectacle
Mesmerizing, she remains an enigma

Native Sister

Sun ripened skin
Bronze rubbed with oil
Glowing
Her smile
is a flash of brilliance
that reveals her naiveté
her love for life
She wonders the streets
only aware of her motion
Her last footstep
eludes her memory
her next move is hollow
She floats through life
with childish joy
still fresh on her face
To erase the hurt of the past
she reverts to innocence

Bag Lady

I see you walking the streets
invisible in the crowd
All your worldly possessions
stuffed in a black plastic bag
You become the wind
swaying to and fro
through the city
The endless monologue in your head
is your only companion
The icicle eyes of the citizens
pierce right through your soul
Your are stripped naked
walking through a dream
with shadowy characters
from a different world
You want to tell your story
but no one stops to listen
You become transparent
and blend into the city
Your skin melts
and seeps into the concrete sidewalk
Your hair becomes the dust
Your body becomes a shadow
Your voice is a stifled moan
resonating from the heart
of the wounded earth
